Review of NDSS subsidised products: community submissions open

The Department of Health and Aged Care (The Department) has today announced it is planning to refresh the range of products subsidised under the National Diabetes services Scheme (NDSS), to ensure the products offered continue to meet the needs of people with diabetes.

This process could lead to the addition or removal of products, including those recently listed. Products being considered include continuous and flash glucose monitors, test strips, and insulin pens.

The Department is conducting a public consultation, inviting feedback from the community on the current range of products subsidised.

This is a chance for the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community to have their voices heard, and provide critical input to ensure the choice and range of products available through the NDSS reflects what is most important and beneficial for the management of T1D.

Responses are being collected via an online survey and written submissions, with details available HERE. Online surveys are open from June 9 – July 2, and written submissions will close on 28 June.

JDRF will be providing a written submission on behalf of the T1D community. If you would like to help ensure our submission reflects the most immediate needs of Australians living with T1D, please email JDRF at advocacy@jdrf.org.au, and we will provide further opportunities for your input in the coming weeks).

We will continue to keep the community informed between now and the finalised submission.
