Watch Type 1 Summit on demand

On 4 August, our community came together for our Type 1 Summit, a day all about thriving with T1D. Attendees online and at our Melbourne event heard from speakers talking about a wide range of T1D topics.

The good news? Type 1 Summit is now available to watch on demand!

With a stream for parents of kids and teens with T1D, and another one for adults with the condition (and the people who love them), there’s something for everyone – starting with our very popular update on the latest T1D research.

Advocacy Spotlight

This month, JDRF advocate Nikolas and his mum Rebecca attended a special event at Government House, hosted by the Governor of Western Australia, His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC AMP, and his wife, Mrs. Darrilyn Dawson. The event recognized JDRF’s advocacy, including amazing advocates just like Nikolas, who has also met with his local member, Sam Lim, to talk about the importance of ongoing funding for T1D research.

Nikolas shared his thoughts about being an advocate and what he hopes research will achieve for the community, saying:

I joined the JDRF advocacy program so we can help find a cure for type one diabetes by asking for lots of money from the Government to support the CRN. My hopes and dreams are that we soon find a cure for T1D so then everyone can have a world free of T1D, and to be able to do whatever they want.
