JDRF’s Type 1 Summit is back in 2023 – bigger and better than ever! For the first time, you can attend online OR in person at a Sydney venue.
Australia’s number one event on living (and thriving) with type 1 diabetes gives members of the community a chance to come together and learn from healthcare professionals, researchers, and other inspirational community members.

About the in-person event
Held at stunning Waterview in Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park, the in-person event gives you the chance to talk to other community members face to face.
Your ticket for the day also includes lunch and morning tea (dietary restrictions will be catered for).
The in-person event will also feature a day of sessions for children and teens (ages 5-12 years and 13 years+). Children who live with T1D and their siblings are welcome to attend. There is a cap of 30 children per age group. See the kids and teens program.

About the online event
Suitable if you can’t get to Sydney or prefer to listen in and learn from the comfort of your own home, the online event will capture all the talks and presentations of the live event.
You’ll also have the chance to ask questions, interact with the presenters, and visit our industry partners’ virtual booths to learn about the latest in device technology.

Does the Type 1 Summit cost anything?
The Summit is completely free to attend, both online and in person.
However, as JDRF is a not-for-profit organisation that funds life-saving T1D research, donations are always welcome.
Are children welcome to attend the Sydney event?
Children are very welcome to take part in our kids & teens program! They just need to:
- be at least five years old
- either live with T1D themselves, or have a sibling who lives with T1D who is also in attendance.
We will have two streams of activities for children (for ages 5-11 years, and 12 years+). See the program for more details.
Registration is essential as numbers are capped at 30 children per age group.
If you register after the groups are full, we’ll let you know that you’re on our waitlist.
How do I register my child for the event?
Fill out the registration form to let us know how many children will be attending with you, as well as their names and ages.
Will food be provided? What about allergies/dietary restrictions?
Light refreshments, lunch and morning tea will be provided free of charge to those attending the Sydney event.
Please let us know of any dietary requirements when registering and we will work with the venue to cater to your needs.
We will share the menu with attendees prior to the event.

The event is being held at Waterview, Bicentennial Park, Homebush, and there are several local accommodation options.

How do I watch the Type 1 Summit online?
To attend our online event, sign up for updates using the form above. We’ll let you know when it’s time to register.
After you register, you’ll be sent an email with a link to our virtual event platform, and you’ll need to log in and create a password.
Will I be able to watch the Type 1 Summit later if I can’t attend on the day?
The Type 1 Summit will be recorded and will be available to watch online at any time after the event.
To watch later, you’ll still need to register, then use your email address and password to log in to access the virtual event platform.
