Let's talk T1D & neurodiversity in kids
Join us for a free discussion all about raising a child who lives with type 1 diabetes and neurodiversity.

Join us on Thursday 13 March 2025 for a chat all about raising a child who lives with the dual challenges of type 1 diabetes (T1D) and neurodiversity.
In this helpful, honest chat, you’ll hear from experts and other parents who understand, and will also be able to share your own stories and questions.
Hosted by Melanie Cullen, JDRF’s mental health lead and mum of a 20-year-old who lives with T1D, the panel will also include:
- Simone Collins, a senior diabetes social worker who specialises in paediatric and adolescent care with Canberra Health Services. Simone is the co-author of our free wellbeing guide for parents, If You’re Okay, They’re Okay
- Dr Keely Bebbington, a clinical psychologist who leads the mental health and wellbeing research team at the Rio Tinto Children’s Diabetes Centre (a JDRF Global Centre of Excellence). Keely has a particular interest in helping young people and their families adjust to living with T1D, and has previously specialised in research exploring the behavioural and cognitive characteristics of children and young people diagnosed with autism.
