Let's talk T1D, daycare and school
Get ready for 2025 with our helpful free chat for parents and carers of kids living with type 1 diabetes.
Join us for our first ‘Let’s Talk T1D’ session of 2025, all about managing your child’s type 1 diabetes (T1D) while they attend daycare or school. Whether you have a toddler, a child in kindy/prep, older primary, or high school, you’ll get handy information and tips that will help you and your child in the school year ahead.
We’ll be talking with paediatric diabetes educator Fiona Scott (who also lives with T1D) and JDRF mental health lead Melanie Cullen (mum of a teenager with T1D). In this interactive chat, we’ll be answering all your questions about the school year head, including:
- tips on prepping food for the day (including carb labelling)
- talking to daycare/school staff about T1D
- managing different activity levels at school and extracurricular activities
- great resources and checklists to help guide parents and carers
- and lots more!
Participants will also have the opportunity to ask their own questions.
When: Thursday 23 January 2025
Where: Online via Zoom
