Adelaide T1D meet-up 

JDRF would like to invite children living with type 1 diabetes, together with their families, to join with us for a fun morning at SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre at Marion.

The event will offer aquatic activity, followed by lunch and a valuable opportunity to engage with others from the T1D community, form friendships, and meet the event sponsors from device companies AMSL, Medtronic, Ypsomed and Insulet to learn about the latest diabetes technology available.

Participants will enjoy a one-hour WIBIT session (giant floating obstacle course), followed by free time, then lunch on the concourse between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

Location: SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, 443 Morphett Road, Oaklands Park, SA

Date: Sunday 6 August 2023

Time: 10.30am to 1.30pm (please arrive at 10:30am for a safety briefing ahead of our one-hour WIBIT session)

Ages: Children aged 5 and under will have access to the pool and splash park, but not the WIBIT. Children aged 6+ will have access to WIBIT, however please note that a parent or guardian may be required to accompany their child onto the WIBIT, depending on their swimming ability.

Cost:

  • Pool entry and WIBIT access for children living with T1D (including the cost of any parent required to be in the pool for the purpose of supervising their child) will be covered by our event partners.
  • Non-swimming/spectating parents are free.
  • Additional siblings are welcome, but at your own expense for both pool entry and WIBIT access.
  • Pricing for pool and/or WIBIT access for siblings (based on their age) will be advised at time of booking and payable on the day to the JDRF Team.
  • Lunch will be supplied for all guests.

When responding, please let us know:

  • Name and age of your child living with T1D
  • Name and age of any additional sibling/s
  • Name and contact number of attending parent
  • Lunch selection (and any dietary requirements) for each guest: Chicken nuggets & chips, hotdog & chips, falafels & chips (V), regular chips.

Once the above information is received, we’ll confirm your attendance and advise you of any cost (if applicable) payable on the day.
