We know 2020 has been a challenging year for many of you. The pain and disruption caused by COVID-19 has been felt far and wide across society. Yet, despite these challenges, our community has been as focused as ever on its relentless battle against T1D. The community never ceases to amaze in its resilience and focus on creating a better world for people living with T1D. For those of you who have fundraised, advocated or supported in another way in recent months, I thank you.
At this time of year, we traditionally launch an activity many of you look forward to, namely the JDRF One Walk. We are keen to ensure the support you feel from the walk is replicated this year, despite the challenge of running physical events at this time.
To that end, I am writing to let you know that the JDRF One Walk 2020 will be going virtual. It is a great opportunity to walk together (virtually) as a community, stay informed and supported, and importantly help us go from type one to type none. We feel this is the most appropriate response to the current situation.
In taking the walk virtual, we will have plenty of opportunities for digital connection with the community and learning more about the fight against T1D. We will also have some new unique challenges and targets for this year’s walk. In addition, and in areas where it is safe to do so, we will provide you the tools to create your own physical walk.
We will be in touch shortly with more details on One Walk 2020 – in the interim please register here to stay up to date with the latest plans for an exciting event this year. You can also follow us on our dedicated Walk Facebook page for all the latest information. If you’d like to access FAQs, click here.
Thank you for your continued support.
