JDRF’s Advocacy programs aim to further relationships between people who are affected by type 1 diabetes and their local Federal and State politicians. JDRF Advocates put a face to the thousands of Australians who live with diabetes. Their efforts result in commitments by politicians to support policies that will speed our path to a cure.
Across Australia people who are affected by this disease meet with politicians to tell their personal story about life with diabetes, and ask to "promise to remember me" when politicians make decisions related to diabetes research. JDRF Advocates communicate the importance of type 1 diabetes related issues to their Members of Parliament and Senators – this is an opportunity for YOU to take action.
