The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is a not-for-profit organisation that is 100% focused on type 1 diabetes.

Since 1970 we have been actively funding Australia's best research into a cure for diabetes and bringing together the type 1 diabetes community to make a difference.

Moving closer to a Cure

JDRF Research has already led to Better Treatments including new synthetic insulins, insulin pumps, and tools such as the HbA1c test.

JDRF Research is also Reducing the Impact of Complications through the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes complications including retinopathy, heart disease, vascular disease and kidney disease.

JDRF has worked with scientists to identify the five most promising paths to a cure, and is funding research into these key areas:

Insulin-producing cell transplantation
Regenerating lost insulin-producing cells
Preventing and reversing complications
Preventing the onset of type 1 diabetes
Creating an artificial pancreas
