Walk to Cure Diabetes
The Walk to Cure Diabetes is a fundraising and awareness campaign that brings the community together to celebrate their contribution to finding a cure. Each year a Walk event is held in most state capital cities as well as in many regional areas. In 2007, the Walk raised over $2.3 million.
- It's your day - The Walk is a day when people with type 1 diabetes can feel extra special. Witnessing the enormous show of support from tens of thousands of walkers is an empowering experience
- Meet other families - At every Walk there is the opportunity to meet other people who are affected by type 1 diabetes
- Anyone can get involved - Diabetes does not just affect one person, it impacts their family and friends as well. The Walk gives friends and families the chance to get involved and make a difference too.
