At a global level,
JDRF Chapters and Staff have been responsible for raising nearly $800
million for diabetes research since the foundation's inception in
the United States in 1970.
Chapters are
grass roots organisations driven by the passion of volunteers. Each
Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation functions in
its own community, raising funds for diabetes research. They also
provide support for people living with type 1 diabetes, their friends,
families, and loved ones.
Our Affiliates
are part of the family of JDRF offices around the world that fundraise
and lobby for the benefit of those with Type 1 while supporting
JDRF researchers on a national level.
Together Chapters
and Staff work to provide funds for the world's best diabetes research.
Funding for research in 2002 will exceed US$100 million with no
projects duplicated, and all chosen by JDRF's stringent and unique
two-tier review process.
